ADVENTURE 360 is seeking motivated individuals to participate in our Paleo X program as program mentors. This program provides individuals with the opportunity to gain experience in advanced field techniques and lead an excavation crew under the supervision of our experienced field staff.

Applicant Qualifications

• participation in at least 2 of our Paleo X Field Schools or equivalent field experiences

• currently be in enrolled in a college or university seeking a degree in paleontology, geology or closely related field

• recommendation letters from two of the following: advisors, professors or supervisors

Mentorship Responsibilities

Mentors must be able to:

​

• participate in one of our summer field experiences of 2023 listed below

• drive or have access to transportation to fuel vehicles and purchase supplies as needed

• replenish excavation supplies in our excavation chests and backpacks

• replenish vinac and other field supplies as needed

• plan and lead a field excavation at one of our excavation sites supervising other program participants

• record and document excavation steps for federal reports

Mentorship Dates

One-week during our summer program. Mentorship ends upon completion of each mentors selected week.

• Adult Week: June 18-24

• Field School: June 21-July 1

• Field School: July 9-15

• Field School July 16-22

Application Process

Interested students should complete the electronic Mentorship Application below by April 15, 2023. Zoom interviews may be scheduled.

Applicants will be notified by May 15, 2023.
